Semiotician, brand strategist, culture writer, editor, illustrator, wearer of many hats

My work explores race, gender, and diaspora identity, led by a playful/subversive curiosity for how it all fit together.

I am fascinated by how narratives are projected and perceived, and how people view their roles in their own stories.

Got something you want to understand on a deeper level?

Let’s work on it together.

In my previous lives, I’ve been a graphic designer, a survey researcher, a bartender, a video game localization manager, a brand consultant, and an editor-in-chief. I have a Masters in sociology from University of Chicago, and Bachelor’s degree in English & Fine Arts from Rutgers University.

My writing on culture and current affairs have been published in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Washington Post, The Guardian, Vulture, Electric Literature, Men’s Health Magazine, and The Objective, to name a few. I write about food, race, and gender from unexamined angles most take for granted.

I am also a semiotician specializing in the US market, with end clients spanning many sectors, including Diageo, Meta, Mark Anthony Group, Lactalis, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and many more.
